Holtec International and its subsidiary companies are designing a safe and secure source of clean energy using nuclear fission, called the Holtec SMR (Small Modular Reactor). The position is offered by SMR LLC as a member of the Holtec International family, a global turnkey supplier of equipment and systems for the nuclear, solar, geothermal, and fossil power sectors of the energy industry.
Job Description & Responsibilities:
- Utilize Smart3D (formerly SmartPlant 3D) to create 3D electrical models of the electrical systems within and supporting the SMR plant, including single line diagrams, cable trays & supports, raceways, lighting, duct banks, cable routing, pull boxes, and embedded conduit.
- Maintain and verify the accuracy of the S3D model, ensuring constructability and absence of interferences.
- Develop and review design deliverables in accordance with industry codes, standards, contract requirements, and company policies.
- Build collaborative relationships to facilitate knowledge transfer, cross-functional understanding, and effective presentation of work products.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 2 years of experience as a SmartPlant 3D Electrical Designer.
- Knowledge of industry/regulatory codes, standards, and design/layout criteria.
- Strong understanding of electrical drafting and design standards and techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce error-free documentation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and computer skills.
Optional Additional Qualifications:
- Experience with other design software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Navisworks, and Revit.
- Completion of Intergraph/Hexagon certified training courses.
- Professional certification in Electrical Design.
- Progressive experience in design or related engineering fields, including systems startup, field engineering, or plant operations in large industrial or utility plants.
