Job summary

Auto Professionals is seeking a skilled Smart Repair Technician to join our Doncaster team. The role is Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, 40 hours per week, with a basic salary of £16 per hour.

You will finish repairs to match the vehicle finish, mend rust, remove dents, and prepare surfaces for painting, with responsibilities spanning stripping, fitting, priming and painting to a high standard. A valid driving licence and NVQ/IMI/City & Guilds or time served are required.

Qualifications

• NVQ/IMI/City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 in Panel Beating, Paint Spraying or MET Technician, or time served.
• Full valid driving licence with no major driving convictions.
• Experience in a fast paced accident repair business.
• Able to work on own in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Finish repairs to match bodywork or prepare surface for paint.
• Mend rusted parts of vehicle bodywork.
• Remove dents from panels.
• Repair minor scratches or replace panels.
• Strip and fit vehicles before and after paint.
• Strip and fit bumpers and doors.
• Repair interior plastics and seats.
• Repair exterior plastics.
• Prepare vehicles to be sprayed and mix paint for perfect match.
• Paint vehicles to a high standard.

Duties:

• Finishing the repair in a way that matches the rest of the bodywork or preparing the surface for a paint sprayer
• Mending rusted parts of a vehicle's bodywork
• Removing any dents in panels
• Repairing minor scratches or making replacement panels
• Stripping and Fitting Vehicles before and after paint.
• Stripping and Fitting bumpers and door.
• Repairing interior Plastics and Seats
• Repairing Exterior Plastics
• Prepare vehicles to be sprayed and mixing paint to ensure a perfect match in order to spray
• Painting vehicles accordingly to a high standard
• Masking up vehicles
• Priming vehicles ready for spraying

Requirements of a Mobile Smart Repairer:

• NVQ/IMI/City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 in either/or Panel Beating, Paint Spraying or MET Technician or be time served in the multiple disciplines.
• Hold a full valid driving licence with no major driving convictions
• Have previous experience of working in a fast paced accident repair business
• Be capable of working on your own in all weather conditions
