Affinity Water is seeking a Smart Metering Field Investigator to diagnose and resolve connectivity and performance issues across our network. This hands-on, field-based role combines technical troubleshooting, data analysis and site visits to keep meters communicating reliably.
You’ll visit customer properties, configure equipment, work with network providers and partners, and capture accurate records. A full UK driving licence and a proactive, safety-conscious approach are essential.
As Affinity Water's Smart Metering Programme continues to expand, we're looking for a Smart Metering Field Investigator to help ensure our smart meter network is operating effectively across our region.
This is a hands-on, field-based role where you'll investigate and resolve smart meter connectivity and performance issues. Combining technical troubleshooting, data analysis and site visits, you'll play a key part in helping us deliver one of the UK's largest smart metering programmes. Working closely with internal teams, delivery partners and network providers, you'll identify the root cause of issues, carry out technical interventions and ensure meters are installed, configured and communicating correctly.
No two days will be the same, one day you could be reviewing system data to identify connectivity issues, and the next you could be out in the field testing equipment, carrying out repairs or supporting remedial works.
We're looking for someone with experience in a technical, field-based role who enjoys problem solving and takes pride in delivering high-quality work.
This is a field-based role covering the Central region, with responsibility for managing your own workload and planning site visits. You'll have the flexibility to work from home or the office one day per week, with the remainder of your time focused on field investigations and operational activities.
