Vallum in Greater London is seeking a seasoned IT professional to drive data migration across large-scale infrastructure and lead cloud development initiatives with multiple suppliers. You will collaborate with internal teams and senior stakeholders to deliver secure, reliable systems.

The role emphasizes independent work, prioritizing multiple tasks, and maintaining robust security for meter data platforms. A cloud certification (Azure/AWS) is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Work as part of a small team of around 3-5 people, with no direct staff management responsibilities.
• Work with internal teams and external suppliers to deliver technical changes, upgrades and maintenance.
• Communicate technical issues, risks and their potential impact on the business.
• Work regularly with senior stakeholders across IT and business teams.
• Ensure smart meter systems are reliable, secure and available.

Technical Responsibilities

Manage and support the following systems and processes:

• Azure Application Services
• Gamma Routers
• DCC physical and virtual gateway connections
• Database storage and SQL databases
• Azure Databricks storage
• Hardware Security Modules (HSM), including code changes and upgrades
• Siemens EnergyIP
• Data cleansing activities
• Database backup and retention policies
• Oracle databases

Skills and Experience Required

Essential Skills

• Experience in large-scale data migration and complex infrastructure projects.
• Experience managing cloud development and working with multiple suppliers.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Azure, AWS or another relevant cloud administration or development certification.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with Meter Data Management Systems (MDMS).
• Experience working in an Agile environment.
• Knowledge of the Smart Energy Code (SEC) and its impact on network operators.
