Job summary

UK Power Networks is seeking a Smart Meter Technical Delivery Specialist in the UK to lead changes, upgrades and maintenance across the Smart Meter System. You will coordinate with IT, IS, and external vendors to ensure reliable operation and deliver designed capabilities.

The role requires experience with MDMS, DCC infrastructure, cloud development, and agile delivery. Hybrid working after a 6‑month probation is offered with both office and remote days, plus a robust benefits package.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with large data migration and complex infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience with managing cloud development in a multi-vendor environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with no supervision and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Certification in Azure/AWS or other Cloud administration or development.
• Experience with Meter Data Management Systems (MDMS) solutions.
• Experience with working in an Agile focused product lifecycle.
• Knowledge of the Smart Energy Code (SEC) and its impact on Network Operators.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of changes, upgrades and ongoing maintenance to ensure good health and operation of the Smart Meter System.
• Manage DCC physical and virtual Gateway connections.
• Oversee SQL Database storage and data cleansing operations.
• Implement database backup and retention policy.
