Job summary

UK Power Networks is seeking a Smart Meter Technical Delivery Specialist to manage changes, upgrades and maintenance for the Smart Meter System. You will collaborate with IT/IS teams, external vendors and control systems to ensure the infrastructure delivers its designed capabilities.

The role requires strong analytical skills, independent work ethic and experience with cloud environments. Blended working after probation (3 days in office, 2 remote) is available in Ipswich, Crawley or London.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with large data migration and complex infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience with managing cloud development in a multi-vendor environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with no supervision and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Certification in Azure/AWS or other Cloud administration or development.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of changes, upgrades and ongoing maintenance to ensure health and operation of all parts of the Smart Meter System including: Azure Application Services, Gamma Router, DCC physical and virtual Gateway connections, Database storage volumes, SQL Database storage, Azure Databricks storage, HSM (including code changes/upgrades), Siemens EnergyIP, Data cleansing operations, Database backup and retention policy implementation, Oracle databases.
• Manage and support the Smart Meter Infrastructure ensuring it operates correctly and delivers designed capabilities.
• Coordinate with Architecture, Control Systems & Automation and external vendors across IT/IS and business stakeholders.
