Job summary

Octopus Energy Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking smart meter engineers to install meters, demonstrate in-home displays, and show customers how to save energy. You'll represent our brands in customers' homes and deliver top-class service.

Qualifications

• Customer-facing installation experience in homes
• Gas Safe certification required
• Full UK driving licence (no more than 6 points)
• Willingness to upskill to renewable tech (EVs and heat pumps)

Responsibilities

• Fit meters in customers' homes and demonstrate how the meter and in-home display work
• Explain energy-saving benefits and answer customer questions
• Support a rotating call-out schedule and on-call pay structure
• Collaborate with a local team to deliver high-quality service

Job description

We're looking for smart meter engineers with a track record of safety and customer excellence. You'll be representing our brands in our customers' homes so you'll need to be just as happy talking to the customer and getting to know them as you are about doing the installation itself. You'll be fitting meters; showing customers how their meter and in-home display work; how it can help them save energy and answering any questions about the green energy revolution we are leading. As part of the Octopus Energy Services team, we'll ensure you have the best of everything you need to deliver the top-class service we're aiming for. You'll be supported by an office team who will share the same performance goals, so we're always working as one team. You'll also have the backing of Octopus Energy's massive tech power - so we'll be able to constantly evolve and shift processes to ensure less time spent on admin and more time spent on delivering our best service.

• MOCoPA - held within the last 3 years and can provide evidence
• Gas Safe - CCN1/MET1 or CMA1/MET1 (or equivalent)
• Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points
  £36,500 starting salary
• £2,500 annual performance bonus, and fit bonuses

• For every asset installed beyond your sixth, you'll earn an additional £15., You will be on a rotating call-out schedule once every five weeks (Monday to Sunday), for which you will receive a £250 retainer. If called out, you'll be paid from door to door.
• Technical aborts are paid at half rate

• £70 for a dual fuel installation
• £35 for a single fuel installation

£36,500 - £50,000 a year You'll start on a £36,500 base, with the potential to earn up to £50,000 OTE - including bonus and on-call. Our process usually takes up to 4 weeks, but we'll always do our best to flex around what works for you.
