We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering, and home decarbonisation.
This role will be within our Metering team. We are the leading provider of metering services in the UK energy retail sector, offering efficient and flexible services for gas, electricity, and water meters.
Our meter readers install, maintain, and manage meters to ensure customers are billed correctly and energy usage patterns are monitored.
What will you be doing?
As an engineer, you'll be responsible for the safe installation, maintenance, and removal of smart meters. Do you enjoy working independently, chatting with customers, and meeting new people?
Customer service is our top priority. You'll ensure all jobs are completed on time and explain the benefits and safe usage of their new smart meters to customers. Do you like meeting new people and making a difference in their lives?
On your daily schedule, you'll complete around 5 smart meter installation and removal jobs (SMETS2) in customers' homes. There's also an uncapped bonus for any additional jobs you complete.
You will travel around your area using your tablet to view your jobs for the day, with schedules available up to 2 weeks in advance.
Continuous training will be provided to develop your skills. Interestingly, 83% of our field management team have been promoted from technicians. We offer long-term career prospects with us.
Health and safety are at the core of everything we do. Your onboarding will prepare you to be an ambassador for health and safety practices.
If you’re worried about loneliness, you'll participate in weekly meetings and catch-ups, and our field managers are always available to assist. No two days are the same, and you'll have many opportunities to excel.
Additional qualifications like REGT1, 3 phase, or registration on the EUSR portal are a plus but not required.
