Job Title: Finishing Team Leader
We're Printed.com, a rapidly expanding ecommerce business in the online print sector. Based in London with a large printing site on the outskirts of Newcastle, we pride ourselves on our UK heritage and our passionate team dedicated to quality and innovation.
As the Finishing Team Leader, you will oversee the digital finishing operations, working closely with the finishing manager to ensure high-quality output, meet job turnaround targets, and continually improve processes and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise the print finishing team: Oversee daily activities, providing guidance to ensure tasks are completed effectively and on time.
- Coordinate final print stages: Manage workflow during the concluding stages, ensuring tasks like trimming, binding, and packaging are timely and organized.
- Ensure quality control: Implement procedures to meet standards for accuracy, appearance, and overall quality.
- Manage schedules and deadlines: Create and maintain schedules, assigning tasks based on priorities.
- Collaborate with departments: Work with pre-press, printing, and others to facilitate smooth transitions and address needs.
- Troubleshoot and maintain equipment: Resolve technical issues and ensure equipment is properly maintained.
- Implement process improvements: Identify and help implement workflow enhancements.
- Leadership and communication: Lead the team effectively, fostering a positive environment and ensuring clear communication.
- Data collection and analysis: Collect and analyze data on turnaround times, error rates, and resource use to identify improvements.
Shift: 2pm - 10pm
Starting Salary: from £28,000 DOE
Minimum Requirements:
- Proven experience as a team leader in a print environment
- In-depth knowledge of finishing processes
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Experience with data collection and analysis
- Ability to perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting
- Attention to detail and print quality standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick decisions
- Availability to work overtime
- Ability to lift up to 25kg
