South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture is seeking a Clerical Assistant to join the HR Team in Hamilton. You will provide high-quality administrative support across HR activities and play a key role in supporting recruitment processes, ensuring a professional service.
The role involves creating recruitment adverts, coordinating interviews, conducting pre-employment checks, issuing contracts, handling payroll paperwork, and maintaining HR records with confidentiality and accuracy.
Monday - Thursday, 8.45am - 16.45pm (1 hour unpaid break)
Friday, 8.45am - 16.15pm (30 minutes unpaid break)
We are looking for an organised, motivated and customer-focused individual to join our HR Team as a Clerical Assistant.
This is a varied and rewarding role where you will provide high-quality administrative support across a range of HR activities. You will play a key part in supporting the recruitment processes, ensuring a professional and efficient service is delivered at all times.
Key responsibilities will include:
Working in a fast-paced environment, you will be expected to manage competing priorities and work to tight timescales. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is therefore essential.
You will also be responsible for responding to enquiries from both internal and external customers, providing information and basic guidance on SLLC policies and procedures. Excellent communication skills, a positive approach to customer service and the ability to build effective working relationships are key requirements of the role.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop your HR administration experience within a busy and supportive team.
Hybrid Working: This post operates on a hybrid working basis, combining office-based and home working. The successful candidate will be expected to attend the office on designated days, with the flexibility to work remotely for the remainder of the week.
Preferred candidates identified after the selection event process will be required to assist the recruitment team, if need be, to ensure timely completion of recruitment checks. If recruitment checks are not completed within a reasonable timescale, you may automatically be withdrawn from this position.

Overseas Criminal Records Check
An Overseas Criminal Records Check is required where applicants born outside the UK (Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland) or who have lived or worked outside the UK for a continuous period of twelve months in the past 10 years.

The check must be translated into English and should come from the police, judicial authority, government department or home embassy of the country or countries concerned. The check must include an official statement confirming that the applicant does not have any history of or pending criminal record proceedings.
