Job summary

Reflex Group in Worcester invites applications for a Slitter Operator to drive maximum efficiency of slitting machines and ensure customer specifications are met. The role emphasises a clean, safe work environment and adherence to quality standards.

You will support CI-driven improvements, manage materials and paperwork, and ensure smooth handovers between shifts for continued productivity at our UK site.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure health & safety requirements within the Conversion department are adhered to at all times.
  • To ensure that all Slitter operators are operating in a safe manner
  • To be responsible for the ancillary equipment of the Slitting machines
  • To minimise downtime and waste within the Conversion department
  • To develop the efficiency of machine performance by effective trouble shooting and implementing improvements using CI techniques.
  • To be responsible for the consumable items used within the Slitting department.
  • To effectively operate within the parameters of schedule, ensuring that set times/run times are adhered to and equipment is are ready for the next job.
  • Take due care and attention of equipment and resources with particular regard to Health & Safety, hygiene, good housekeeping and basic maintenance.
  • To ensure that Health, Safety and Hygiene procedures are followed at all times, including compliance with BRC criteria.
  • Carry out effective shift handovers to ensure continued quality and avoid unnecessary downtime issues
  • To ensure all paperwork is ready for the job and next shift
  • Locate materials ready for the job and new jobs pending

Slitter Operator

Established in 2002, the Reflex Group is now the largest privately owned print and packaging company in the UK, employing over 1,000 people across 27 sites in the UK, Europe, America and Australia. The company has an opportunity for an experienced Slitter Operator at our site in Worcester.

Location : Worcester

Position type: Full-Time, Permanent

Working Hours: TBC

Role Overview

The role is to ensure the Slitting machines are operating to maximum efficiency, ensuring that designs are Slit within a target timeframe and to the customer specification. To organise ancillary products/equipment to provide a well organised and safe place of work including, WIP and finished goods ensuring materials are available as required for the next process (The Customer). A clean environment is key to help maintain best practices.
