Job summary

Reflex Labels is seeking an experienced Slitter Operator for our site in Telford. The role focuses on achieving maximum efficiency of Slitting machines, ensuring designs meet customer specs, and maintaining a safe, orderly work area with available WIP and finished goods for the next process.

You will work to health, safety and hygiene standards, manage ancillary equipment, and drive improvements using CI techniques to reduce downtime and waste.

Qualifications

  • Health & safety within the Conversion department must be followed at all times.
  • All Slitter operators must work safely.
  • Troubleshoot and improve machine performance using CI techniques.
  • Responsible for consumable items used within the Slitting department.
  • Operate to schedule with set times/run times, ensuring readiness for next job.
  • Care for equipment and resources with regard to health, hygiene, housekeeping and maintenance.
  • Follow Health, Safety and Hygiene procedures, including BRC criteria.
  • Carry out shift handovers to ensure quality and minimize downtime.
  • Ensure paperwork is ready for the job and next shift.
  • Locate materials for current and upcoming jobs.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure health & safety requirements within the Conversion department are adhered to at all times.
  • To ensure that all Slitter operators are operating in a safe manner
  • To be responsible for the ancillary equipment of the Slitting machines
  • To minimise downtime and waste within the Conversion department
  • To develop the efficiency of machine performance by effective trouble shooting and implementing improvements using CI techniques.
  • To be responsible for the consumable items used within the Slitting department.
  • To effectively operate within the parameters of schedule, ensuring that set times/run times are adhered to and equipment is ready for the next job.
  • Take due care and attention of equipment and resources with particular regard to Health & Safety, hygiene, good housekeeping and basic maintenance.
  • To ensure that Health, Safety and Hygiene procedures are followed at all times, including compliance with BRC criteria.
  • Carry out effective shift handovers to ensure continued quality and avoid unnecessary downtime issues
  • To ensure all paperwork is ready for the job and next shift
  • Locate materials ready for the job and new jobs pending

Job description

The role is to ensure the Slitting machines are operating to maximum efficiency, ensuring that designs are slit within a target timeframe and to the customer specification. To organise ancillary products/equipment to provide a well organised and safe place of work including WIP and finished goods ensuring materials are available as required for the next process (The Customer). A clean environment is key to help maintain best practices.
