Job summary

We are seeking an experienced Slitter Operator to join a busy manufacturing and print production environment in the North East England region. The role focuses on accurately slitting and finishing printed materials to customer specifications while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with slitting machinery in a digital or flexographic print environment, strong mechanical knowledge, and the ability to troubleshoot basic machine issues.

Qualifications

• Experience operating slitting machinery in a print or manufacturing setting.
• Experience with digital print and/or flexographic print is advantageous.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and ability to troubleshoot basic machinery issues.

Responsibilities

• Operate slitting and finishing machinery safely and efficiently.
• Set up machines to achieve specified widths, lengths and production requirements.
• Monitor production runs and make adjustments as necessary.
• Carry out quality checks before, during and after the slitting process.
• Identify and resolve basic machine and production issues.
• Perform routine cleaning, maintenance and lubrication of machinery.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely during machine setup and maintenance.
• Fabricate or assemble components where required.
• Handle and move rolls and other production materials safely.
• Maintain accurate production and quality standards.
• Keep the production area clean, organised and compliant with health and safety requirements.
• Work closely with colleagues across the production team to meet deadlines and maintain output.

Slitter Operator - Digital & Flexographic Print

Job Type: Full-time

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Slitter Operator to join a busy manufacturing and print production environment.

The successful candidate will have experience operating industrial slitting machinery, ideally within a digital and/or flexographic print environment. You will be responsible for accurately slitting and finishing printed materials to customer and production specifications, while maintaining high standards of quality, safety and efficiency.

This is a hands‑on role suited to someone with good mechanical knowledge, strong attention to detail and experience working with industrial machinery.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience operating slitting machinery, preferably within a print or manufacturing environment.
• Experience working with digital print and/or flexographic print would be highly advantageous.
• Good mechanical knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot basic machinery issues.
• Experience using hand tools and power tools.
• Good understanding of production and quality control processes.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• The ability to work safely when handling heavy materials.
• A reliable, practical and hands‑on approach to work.
• The ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team.
• Experience in a warehouse, manufacturing or print production environment would be advantageous.
