MSS Infrastructure is seeking a qualified Slinger / Crane Supervisor for a busy civils project in Bury St Edmunds. You will coordinate lifting activities on site, sling and direct loads, and ensure all crane operations follow lift plans, RAMS, and on-site procedures.

Ideal candidates hold CPCS/NPORS, Slinger/Signaller, and Crane Supervisor qualifications, with civil site experience and strong communication. On-site role with ongoing work and competitive rates dependent on experience.

Qualificações

• Valid CPCS or NPORS card relevant to slinging and crane supervision duties.
• Slinger/Signaller qualification.
• Crane Supervisor qualification where required for the role.
• Previous experience on civil engineering or construction projects.
• Good understanding of lifting plans, risk assessments and safe lifting procedures.
• Strong communication and ability to work in a site team.

Responsabilidades

• Supervise and coordinate lifting operations on a busy civils site.
• Sling and direct loads safely, ensuring correct lifting accessories and equipment are used.
• Communicate with crane operators, banksmen and other site personnel using recognised signals and radio communication.
• Ensure lifting activities are in accordance with approved lift plans and risk assessments.
• Check lifting equipment and accessories before use, reporting any defects or safety concerns.
• Establish and maintain exclusion zones to protect workers and the public.
• Monitor lifting operations to ensure safe working practices at all times.
• Coordinate with site management and other trades to keep lifting activities running smoothly.
• Comply with RAMS and PPE requirements on site.

We are currently seeking an experienced Slinger / Crane Supervisor to join a busy civil engineering project in Bury St Edmunds. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and safety-conscious individual with relevant lifting operation experience and valid industry-recognised tickets.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating lifting activities on site, ensuring all crane operations are carried out safely and efficiently in accordance with lifting plans, site procedures and health and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate lifting operations on a busy civils site.

• Sling and direct loads safely, ensuring correct lifting accessories and equipment are used.

• Communicate clearly with crane operators, banksmen and other site personnel using recognised signals and radio communication.

• Ensure lifting activities are carried out in accordance with approved lift plans and risk assessments.

• Check lifting equipment and accessories before use, reporting any defects or safety concerns.

• Establish and maintain exclusion zones to protect workers and members of the public.

• Monitor lifting operations to ensure safe working practices are followed at all times.

• Coordinate with site management and other trades to ensure lifting activities run efficiently.

• Comply with site-specific health and safety procedures, RAMS and PPE requirements.

Essential Requirements
