Laing O'Rourke is recruiting Slinger/Signallers for major UK infrastructure projects. You will sling and signal loads, direct crane movements, inspect lifting gear and maintain safe lifting zones on busy sites.

• Proven experience working as a Slinger/Signaller on construction or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of lifting operations and safe systems of work.

Responsibilities

• Safely sling and signal loads in accordance with lifting plans and site procedures.
• Direct crane movements using approved hand signals and communication methods.
• Inspect lifting accessories prior to use and report any defects.
• Ensure loads are secured correctly before lifting operations commence.
• Maintain effective communication with Crane Operators, Crane Supervisors and site management.
• Establish and maintain safe lifting zones and exclusion areas.
• Follow lift plans, risk assessments and method statements.
• Report hazards, incidents and near misses promptly.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety and housekeeping at all times.
