Job summary

Simply Recruitment Group is actively seeking 2 experienced Slingers/Signallers for Portsmouth Naval Base on a 4-month contract. You will perform slinging and signalling duties per lifting plans, coordinate with crane operators, and uphold strict site safety standards.

The roles start in the first week of November, require valid CPCS or NPORS Slinger/Signaller qualifications, and eligibility for UK Security Clearance.

Qualifications

Location: Portsmouth Naval Base, Portsmouth

Rate: £25.00 per hour (All Hours)

Duration: 4-Month Contract

Hours: Approx. 60 Hours per Week (Including Weekends)

Start Date: Expected First Week of November (Subject to Security Clearance)

The Opportunity

Our client, a leading marine and defence contractor operating within Portsmouth Naval Base, is seeking 2 experienced Slingers/Signallers to join their project team on a major ongoing project.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out slinging and signalling duties in accordance with approved lifting plans and site procedures.
• Communicate effectively with crane operators and lifting teams to ensure safe movement of loads.
• Conduct pre-use checks on lifting accessories and equipment.
• Ensure all lifting operations are completed safely and efficiently.
• Adhere to site health, safety and security requirements at all times.
• Work collaboratively with project teams to support operational requirements.

Essential Requirements

• Valid CPCS or NPORS Slinger/Signaller qualification.
• Previous experience working on heavy lifting, construction, marine, defence or industrial projects.
• Ability to commit to the full contract duration.
• Eligible to obtain full UK Security Clearance.
• British Nationals only due to security clearance requirements.
• Strong understanding of lifting operations and site safety procedures.

Working Hours & Package

• £25.00 per hour on all hours worked.
• Approximately 60 hours per week available.
• Weekend working included.
• Four-month contract with potential for extension depending on project requirements.

Important Information

• Start date is anticipated to be the first week of November, however candidates must have security clearance approved prior to commencing work. Start dates will therefore be dependent upon completion of the clearance process and associated onboarding documentation.
• No accommodation, travel allowance or lodging uplift is available. Therefore, local candidates within commuting distance of Portsmouth are strongly preferred.
