Job summary

Neath Port Talbot Council seeks a Speech & Language Youth Club Worker to run engaging activities for young people aged 11–24 at Bspoked Enterprises, Neath Abbey. The role requires enthusiasm, organisation and the ability to work with others in a safe environment.

You will design and deliver activities linked to Citizenship, Art, Sport, Health and Welsh, support youth involvement, and ensure safeguarding and health-and-safety policies are followed.

Qualifications

• Experience with 11–24-year-olds in various settings.
• Knowledge of the Welsh youth work curriculum framework.
• Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) via the required qualification.

Responsibilities

• Deliver projects and activities in line with Citizenship, Art, Sport, Health and Welsh, including DoE and youth forums.
• Support young people to design, deliver and evaluate services and activities.
• Ensure safeguarding, equal opportunities and health and safety policies are followed.
• Inform the Worker in Charge of concerns regarding grievances, complaints, incidents or safeguarding.
• Complete youth club paperwork per local authority procedures.
• Deliver activities that broaden horizons and promote community cohesion.
• Attend three preterm meetings per year

Job Title: Speech & Language Youth Club Worker

Location of post: Bspoked Enterprises, Monastery Road, Neath Abbey, SA10 7DR

As a Youth Club Worker, you will:

• Deliver projects and activities in line with Citizenship, Art, Sport, Health and Welsh, which includes DoE and youth forums.

The successful candidate will have the ability to work with young people and colleagues to deliver a range of activities at the youth club. You will need to be highly motivated, organised and have the skill to develop activities in a fun and safe environment that involves young people at all levels. No experience is required at this stage however, the successful candidate will be required to complete the relevant youth work qualification within two years of commencing this role.

Do you have:

• Experience of working with young people between the ages of 11 – 24 in a variety of settings
• Knowledge of the purposes and principles of the youth work curriculum statement for Wales
• The relevant national youth work qualification required for registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
