Job summary

Tewkesbury Academy invites applications for a permanent Teaching Assistant Level 2. The role focuses on supporting students with speech, language and communication needs as the SLCN Champion.

You will deliver targeted interventions, collaborate with staff and external professionals, and help students access learning and participate fully across the curriculum. We seek a passionate practitioner with experience in one-to-one and small-group support, a Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of TA role and how to support learning and behaviour.
• Experience supporting students one-to-one and in small groups, including SEND.
• Good planning, organisation and communication skills with empathy and active listening.
• GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).
• A Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or commitment to undertake training.
• Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and student wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality specialist support to students with speech, language and communication needs.
• Deliver targeted communication interventions and monitor progress.
• Collaborate with teachers, SEND, Speech and Language Therapist and external professionals.
• Support assessment, reporting and provision planning to tailor support.
• Promote inclusive practices across the academy.
