Job summary

Philosophy Education, Ltd. is seeking a caring SLCN Specialist Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Speech, Language and Communication Needs across various schools in the United Kingdom.

The role focuses on developing communication skills, speaking confidence and social interaction through targeted activities and collaborative work with teachers and specialists. The ideal candidate will have experience with SLCN, autism or related needs, and will contribute to a supportive classroom

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SLCN, speech and language difficulties, autism or other communication needs is desirable.
• Experience in education, childcare, care, psychology, therapy or similar environments may be highly relevant.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support.
• Supporting pupils to access learning and participate in school life.
• Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Supporting communication, interaction and social skills in collaboration with teachers, SENCOs, speech and language therapists and families.
• Supporting pupils’ confidence, independence and emotional wellbeing.
