We are firmly focused on the future and have made a clear commitment to serve residents better and to provide stronger representation for Buckinghamshire, both locally and nationally.

Buckinghamshire is an ambitious, rapidly growing county, and our economy is one of the strongest in the country. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty and ranks as one of the top rural areas to live in the UK and yet it is incredibly well connected – only an hour from London on the train. The county has a rich history and heritage and is the birthplace of the international Paralympic movement.

We are looking for motivated, ambitious and inspiring people to join us on our journey. You will be entitled to a range of different benefits to make sure you are happy both at work and at home.

  • Preparing relevant, effective and challenging assessments and assignments and providing regular feedback to learners on their learning so that all learners make good progress relevant to their starting point, they know how well they are doing, what they need to do to improve and are able to develop their own skills of self-assessment.
  • Using Information Learning Technology (ILT) effectively in the classroom, where appropriate.
  • Completing all necessary paperwork and administrative tasks including registers, schemes of work, lesson plans, assessments, records of student work, etc. within the required timeframes.
  • Providing next steps information and advice, through induction, tutorials, course content and signposting, in order to support all learners to make informed choices about progression routes e.g. volunteering, employment or education, based on their needs, interests and circumstances.
About you

For this exciting opportunity, we're looking for candidates who:

  • Possess substantial experience of teaching within Basic Skills (minimum of 2 years).
  • Understand OFSTED and ESFA requirements together with having knowledge of awarding bodies: Pearson & Gateway.
  • Can demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with a range of audiences and explain specialist information in a way which a non-specialist can understand.
  • Possess good ICT skills including use of Google suite.
  • Are able to maintain accurate and clear records showing progression for learners.
  • Have demonstrable experience of mentoring tutors and supporting with their CPD needs.
  • Possess good planning and organisational skills, with proven ability to prioritise and co-ordinate workloads, monitor and evaluate work, to ensure deadlines are achieved.
