Job summary

East Kent Colleges Group is seeking a Skills Practitioner to support the Electrical Installation area within the Built Environment department. You will help staff and learners deliver high-quality, hands-on learning experiences and liaise with colleagues and external partners to enhance outcomes.

You will ensure workshops are safe, well-organised and fully equipped, supporting learners to reach their goals in a collaborative, team-based environment.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on support to learners during practical tasks
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and guidance
  • Confidence in helping learners develop practical skills and confidence

About The Role

As a Skills Practitioner in our thriving Electrical Installation area in our Built Environment department, you will play an important part in supporting both staff and students, helping to deliver high-quality, hands‑on learning experiences.

You’ll liaise with colleagues and external partners, support learners to reach their goals, and ensure workshops are safe, well‑organised, and fully equipped.

In this role, you will:
  • Monitor and promote excellent Health & Safety practices within workshop sessions
  • Order, organise, and issue stock and supplies to keep sessions running smoothly
  • Assist in workshop preparation
  • Provide constructive feedback and support to students

You will be passionate about working in a team, taking instruction and guidance from our highly skilled tutors to ensure the best possible experience and chances of achievement for all of our learners.

What are we looking for?
  • Someone confident to support and guide learners through practical tasks
  • Someone witha Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installations
  • With some industry experience in the Electrical sector
