Job summary

Royal Mencap Society in Ealing is seeking a Senior Skills Coach to lead a team of Skills Coaches supporting learners with SEND on our Supported Internship programme.

The role encompasses coaching, planning in-work support hours, building relationships with families and employers, ensuring accurate records, and contributing to continuous improvement within the team.

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting people
• Proven track record delivering against targets
• Knowledge of risk management and safe working practices
• GCSE English & Maths at grade C/4 or equivalent required at interview

Responsibilities

• Line manage and coach a team to support learners to progress towards paid employment.
• Plan Skills Coach in-work support hours to meet targets and Access to Work funding.
• Build and maintain relationships with parents, carers, learners and employers.
• Ensure accurate and up-to-date record keeping and reporting.
• Conduct quality assurance activities to drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with the wider team to meet learner needs.

Do you have experience of working with people with a learning disability? Are you passionate about working for an organisation that drives change? Then we may have the role for you within our Supported Internship team.

An exciting opportunity for a passionate and self-motivated Senior Skills Coach to join our Supported Internship programme team in Ealing on a full time (37.5 hour per week) basis.

As a Senior Skills Coach, your role is central to the delivery of our Mencap Training Academy You Will lead a team of Skills Coaches to support learners with SEN to complete all elements of the programme in line with requirements by providing tailored support.

What you will do as a Senior Skills Coach?

• Line manage and coach a team to support learners to progress towards paid employment.
• Plan Skills Coach in work support hours to meet agreed targets to receive Access to Work funding.
• Support and ensure the team build and maintain good relationships with parents, carers, learner support networks and employers.
• Ensure accurate and up to date record keeping and reporting.
• Conduct quality assurance activity to drive constant improvement.
• Work closely with the wider team to ensure the needs of the learner are being met.
