Job summary

GKN Aerospace is recruiting Skilled Painters at their Filton facility to perform paint spraying, touch-up and finishing on high-value aerospace components. Join a world-class manufacturing environment focused on quality and precision.

Responsibilities include following engineering instructions, SAP transactions, and reporting non-conformances while maintaining safety and housekeeping standards. Baseline security clearance is required for successful applicants.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a paint-related discipline required.
• Minimum Level 3 NVQ in Paint Spraying/Paint Finishing or related discipline.
• Recognised paint spraying apprenticeship desirable.
• Manufacturing experience beneficial but not essential.
• Candidates from automotive/motor trade encouraged to apply.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work effectively within a team.
• Good communication skills and flexible approach to work.

Requirements

• YOU MUST HAVE NVQ LEVEL 3 OR EQUIVALENT IN A PAINT-RELATED DISCIPLINE, such as an NVQ Level 3, Apprenticeship, City & Guilds, BTEC, or equivalent Paint Spraying / Surface Finishing qualification. Applicants unable to provide evidence of this at a later date cannot be considered for the role.

About the role

We are currently recruiting for Skilled Painters to join GKN Aerospace at their Filton manufacturing facility. These positions offer the opportunity to work on high-value aerospace components within a world-class manufacturing environment, carrying out paint spraying, touch-up and finishing activities to the highest quality standards.

Security Clearance

All successful applicants must be able to obtain Baseline Security Clearance through GKN's screening process, including a criminal record check.

Available Shift Options

Weekend Night Shift

• 34 hrs per week over 3 days


• Friday 2000 - 0700


• Saturday 1900 - 0700


• Sunday 1900 - 0600


• Rate: £31.50/hr once stamp achieved

7 Day Fortnight Shift

• Working a rotating shift pattern averaging 35 hours per week:


• Week 1


• Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday


• 07:00 - 17:30


• Week 2


• Thursday & Friday


• 07:00 - 17:30


• Rate: £26.25/hour once stamp achieved


• Overtime: £30.26 per hour, Competitive shift rates and overtime premiums
