Job summary

JN Bentley is seeking an enthusiastic Skilled Operative Groundworker living in or around Shrewsbury to join an existing groundworks gang working across the region.

The role involves civil engineering tasks, concreting, deep drainage and pipe-laying, primarily within the water sector. A multi-skilled candidate capable of machine operation but not a dedicated Plant Operative is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in general civil work, concreting, deep drainage and pipe-laying, with water industry exposure.
• CSCS Touchscreen & 1 day Health & Safety Awareness course is required.
• CPCS / NOCN or NPORs Plant tickets and NVQ for plant equipment.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a gang on various construction sites across the region.
• Operate groundworks machinery as needed, not a dedicated Plant Operative.
• Demonstrate proactive attitude toward health and safety on site.

Job description

Here at JN Bentley we are looking for an enthusiastic and positive Skilled Operative Groundworker who lives in and around the Shrewsbury area, to join one of our existing Groundworks gangs who work across the region.

In the role you will workas part of a gang on various construction sitespredominantlywithin the water industry. You will have a proactive attitude towards work and health and safety, with experience ideally of general civils work, concreting, deep drainage and pipe laying.

The ideal candidate should be multi-skilled and able to work on the machines as well as on the ground within the gang. This role is not for a dedicated Plant Operative.

Candidate Specification

• Experience within a wide range of Civil Engineering – particularly general civil work, concreting, deep drainage and pipe-laying and experience in the water industry.
• CSCS Touchscreen & 1 day Health & Safety Awareness course - Minimum requirement
• Ideally holding your CPCS / NOCN or NPORs Plant Tickets.
• CPCS / NOCN or NPORs Plant cards & NVQ for 360 Excavator, Forward Tipping Dumper, Ride on Roller, Telehandler
