Job summary

JN Bentley is seeking a Skilled Operative Groundworker to join a groundworks gang in the Bridgwater area. Multiskilled candidates who can work on ground and machine tasks are preferred, with health and safety awareness and CSCS requirements.

The role involves on-site work across regional sites, primarily within civil water-related projects. Salary is competitive with company training and progression opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Experience in civil engineering, general civil work, concreting, deep drainage and pipe-laying.
• CSCS Touchscreen & 1 day Health & Safety Awareness is a minimum requirement.
• CPCS / NOCN or NPORs Plant Tickets are preferred.
• NVQ or similar plant qualifications for 360 Excavator, Dumper, Roller and Telehandler are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a civil works gang on various sites, mainly in the water industry.
• Operate plants and perform groundworks as part of the gang; this is not a dedicated Plant Operative role.

Job description

Here at JN Bentley we are looking for an enthusiastic and positive Skilled Operative Groundworker who lives in and around the Bridgwater area, to join one of our existing Groundworks gangs who work across the region, who can ideally join with a ready-made gang. Availability to lodge short term preferred.

Salary - TBC.

Please can Lead Hands or General Operatives apply on the relevant roles.

In the role you will work as part of a gang on various construction sites predominantly within the water industry. You will have a proactive attitude towards work and health and safety, with experience ideally of general civils work, concreting, deep drainage and pipe laying.

The ideal candidate should be multi-skilled and able to work on the machines as well as on the ground within the gang. This role is not for a dedicated Plant Operative.

Candidate Specification

• Experience within a wide range of Civil Engineering – particularly general civil work, concreting, deep drainage and pipe-laying and experience in the water industry.
• CSCS Touchscreen & 1 day Health & Safety Awareness course - Minimum requirement
• Ideally holding your CPCS / NOCN or NPORs Plant Tickets.
• CPCS / NOCN or NPORs Plant cards & NVQ for 360 Excavator, Forward Tipping Dumper, Ride on Roller, Telehandler
