Skilled Machine Operator / CNC Machinist

Pertemps are currently seeking a Skilled Machine Operator / CNC Machinistto join our well-established client based in Stoke-on-Trent. This role offers a great opportunity to work on a range of mechanical engineering projects, including the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems across industrial and commercial sectors.

Key Responsibilities of this Skilled Machine Operator / CNC Machinist role:

Operation of CNC machines and manual machines including vertical borers, mills, and lathes

Setting and operating machinery to produce high-precision mechanical components

Reading and interpreting engineering drawings

Carrying out routine maintenance and basic fault diagnosis on machinery

Assisting with installation and servicing of mechanical systems in industrial and commercial settings

Always adhering to health and safety procedures

Working closely with the wider engineering and maintenance team

Key Skills and Experience required for this Skilled Machine Operator / CNC Machinist role:

Previous experience as a machinist, CNC operator, or similar role within a mechanical engineering environment

Skilled in using vertical borers, milling machines, and other machine shop equipment

Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

Solid understanding of mechanical principles and systems

Basic knowledge of machine maintenance and fault-finding

Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team

Details of this Skilled Machine Operator / CNC Machinist role:

Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:30
Pay Rate: £13.50 per hour
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
