Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating various manual machining equipment to produce precision components. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work with a variety of materials, including plastics. The Manual Machinist will play a crucial part in ensuring that all products meet the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Operate manual milling machines and lathes to fabricate parts according to specifications.
  • Assemble components and ensure they meet design requirements.
  • Perform grinding operations to achieve precise dimensions and finishes.
  • Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively for various machining tasks.
  • Conduct quality checks on finished products using basic maths and measurement techniques.
  • Maintain tooling and equipment in good working order, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve processes and product quality.
  • Interpret CAD drawings and schematics to execute machining tasks accurately.

Skills

  • Proficient in basic maths for measurements and calculations.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Experience with tooling and understanding of plastics injection moulding processes is advantageous.
  • Ability to assemble components with precision and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with grinding techniques and operation of milling machines is essential.
  • Competence in using both hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting CAD drawings is preferred.
