Job summary

NOV Greengate in Manchester is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to operate and set up a range of CNC machines, ensuring high-quality components with precise tolerances. You will read engineering drawings, perform first article inspections, adjust offsets, and support continuous improvement in a high-performance shop.

Based in Greater Manchester, you will work in a safety-driven environment with ongoing training, with career development opportunities across production and process improvement

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship in CNC machining.
• Experience operating a variety of CNC machines.
• Experience in a high-productivity machine shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality parts on CNC machines in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.
• Perform machine set-ups, adjustments, and first article inspections on production runs.
• Load parts using overhead lifting equipment and operate CNC controls.
• Set offsets, perform simple program edits, de-burr, and inspect components to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Monitor machine operations and identify malfunctions or deviations, adjusting controls as required.
• Interpret engineering drawings, job orders, and measurement data to determine tooling and machining requirements.
