Job summary

SEA Ltd in Barnstaple is seeking a Skilled Assembly Technician to join our on-site team. You will assemble electro and mechanical components to support new builds and ongoing contracts, following detailed drawings and our safety and quality standards.

This onsite role requires five days a week at the Barnstaple site and offers a comprehensive benefits package including generous leave, private medical insurance, a pension plan, and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in electro/mechanical assembly with good manual skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Team player capable of working to quality standards.
• Ability to generate repair reports and purchasing lists.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled electro/mechanical assembly for new builds and legacy contracts.
• Generate reports after equipment surveys and functional testing.
• Move between factory areas and operate machine tools when required.

About The Role

You will be supporting the manufacture of new equipment, through assembly of parts supplied against detailed drawings, working to company safety and quality standards as appropriate.

Skilled Assembly Technician will be based at our Barnstaple site. This role does require being onsite 5 days a week.

The salary for this role is up to £32k, depending on experience.

What you’ll be doing

• Primary responsibility - Providing skilled elctro/mechanical assembly service to new build and legacy contract operations.
• Secondary responsibility - Generate reports as required following equipment survey and appropriate test reports following functional testing.
• Tertiary responsibility - Provide flexible and proactive approach that would allow movement between other areas of factory, also if skilled appropriately run some of the machine tools owned by the business

The skills you need

• Experience in an electro/mechanical assembly role
• Completed a recognised engineering based training programme or have appropriate experience
• Be able to understand and work from complex engineering drawings
• Work as part of a team or individually as work load requires
• Be able to generate reports and documentation that could be used to create repair plans and replacement part purchasing lists
• Be comfortable working with either electrical or mechanical equipment
