Job summary

Prestwick Aerosystems is seeking skilled tradespeople to join our Ayrshire site, manufacturing wing structures for Airbus. You may be welder, fabricator, mechanic, gas fitter, pipefitter or similar, working in a demanding aerospace environment to high quality standards.

You will join an experienced team, perform precision assembly, seal, coat and finish components, and operate tools safely. Applicants must have an apprenticeship and trade papers, with SVQ 3 or City & Guilds, and be eligible to

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship in a mechanical trades discipline.
• Trade papers or equivalent qualification certificates.
• Experience reading technical drawings and manufacturing docs.
• Evidence of apprenticeship completion and trade qualifications.

• Carry out sealing, coating and finishing to aerospace standards.

Salary: £37,530 plus shift premiums up to 33%

Hours: 37 hours per week (half-day Friday)

Type: Full-time (Variable Shifts)

Work Location: Site-based (100%)

Prestwick Aerosystems is proud to continue Ayrshire's long-standing aircraft manufacturing heritage. From our Prestwick site, we manufacture major aircraft wing structures used on Airbus commercial aircraft worldwide.

How you will contribute to the team

You will:

• Manufacture and assemble aircraft wing structure components using approved engineering instructions and technical data.
• Carry out sealing, coating and finishing activities to aerospace manufacturing standards.
• Safely operate tools, equipment and production systems while meeting demanding quality requirements.
• Maintain exceptional standards of quality, safety and compliance within a regulated aerospace environment.

Requirements for the role

You will have:

• A completed apprenticeship in a mechanical, fabrication, welding, vehicle maintenance, pipefitting, gas fitting or comparable manufacturing trade.
• Trade papers, apprenticeship papers or equivalent qualification certificates that can be provided during the recruitment process.
• Experience working from technical drawings, engineering instructions or manufacturing documentation.
• Experience carrying out fitting, fabrication, welding, mechanical assembly or similar skilled trade activities.
• Evidence of apprenticeship completion and trade qualifications must be provided as part of your application.
• An SVQ Level 3 qualification, City and Guilds Qualification (or equivalent recognised vocational qualification).
