Job summary

Shiplake College is seeking an organised, empathetic House Pastoral Leader to join our pastoral team three days per week (Wednesday to Friday) during term-time, plus INSET days. You will work in our Sixth Form Centre with Year 12 and Year 13 pupils, reporting to the Housemaster/Housemistress.

The role requires a calm, confidential approach, strong teamwork with tutors and domestic staff, and a commitment to supporting young people's wellbeing as they prepare for the next steps after Shiplake

Qualifications

  • Experience in youth welfare and safeguarding.
  • Ability to work with Sixth Form students (Years 12-13).
  • Excellent communication and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Support Sixth Form pupils' wellbeing within the House.
  • Collaborate with Housemaster/Housemistress and tutors.
  • Maintain confidentiality with sensitive situations.
  • Assist with pastoral activities during term-time and INSET days.
  • Be a good listener, reliable, warm, approachable.
