Job summary

Sapientia Education Trust is seeking a Sixth Form Academic Support Assistant at Fakenham Academy, Fakenham. You will support students across the Sixth Form with high needs to access A level and BTEC Level 3 learning and provide tailored academic support during study periods.

This fixed-term role runs until 31 August 2027, 35 hours per week term time plus one week, with the aim of helping students reach their potential within a supportive school community.

Qualifications

Salary: £25,583 - £25,989 FTE Actual Salary: £20,814 - £21,521 pro rata per annum

About The Role

As a Sixth Form Academic Support Assistant, you will work with specific students across Fakenham Sixth Form who have a range of special educational needs and disabilities and are classed as having high needs. You will help the students access A level and BTEC Level 3 learning in the classroom and support them academically during study periods, provide tailored support, and promote independence and confidence.

You will be expected to follow the Professional Standards for Teaching Assistants, which include:

The qualifications and previous experience required for a Sixth Form Academic Support Assistant are

• A minimum of a grade C / 4 in English and Maths GCSE

• Experience of working with children of the relevant age in a school, college, care, health service, social care or youth environment.
