Fakenham Academy is seeking a Sixth Form Academic Support Assistant to help students across the Sixth Form access A level and BTEC Level 3 learning in the classroom and to support them academically during study periods. The role requires a compassionate approach and a commitment to every child’s success.

You will work with teachers and pastoral staff to deliver tailored support, promote independence and confidence, and uphold professional standards for Teaching Assistants.

About the Role

As aSixth Form Academic Support Assistant, you will work withspecificstudents acrossFakenham SixthFormwho have a range of special educational needs and disabilitiesand are classed as having high needs. You will help thestudentsaccessA level and BTEC Level 3learning in the classroomandsupport them academicallyduringstudy periods, provide tailored support, and promote independence and confidence.

You will be expected to follow theProfessional Standards for Teaching Assistants, which include:

  • Developing strong knowledge and understanding of your role.
  • Supporting high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Working effectively with others across the school community.

You’llbe part of a team committed to high-qualitysupport andwill work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to ensure all students feel safe,includedand ready to succeed.

Working hours are 8.30 – 16:00 Monday-Friday
