Main Responsibilities
As a Site Support Engineer, you will support the onsite client with desk side support, including (but not limited to):
- Carrying out Security Audits of all devices holding Data on the network by scanning and reporting
- IMACs – Installations, Moves, Additions, and Changes
- Break-Fix of all in-scope managed devices
- Providing Hands and Eyes Support to visually verify the state of managed devices such as servers and network devices
- Desktop Support including support for special project activities as they arise
- Working seamlessly within a team both in person and remotely, maintaining key communication with the lead
- Asset Management & Stock Management
- Managing the lifecycle of loan user equipment
- Working directly alongside the client, managing your workload while liaising with other teams or vendors to resolution
- Acting as a central point of contact for the customer
- Diagnosing, analyzing, and fixing software and system faults
- Taking responsibility for stock used and following proper stock management procedures
- Proactively updating the customer on problem status
- Identifying and reporting risks as per guidelines
Additional Details
Due to the nature of our client's work, the successful candidate must hold or be able to obtain SC Security Clearance.
This is a full-time permanent position working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, between 07:00 and 19:00. Hours will be agreed upon with the site lead.
The role is primarily site-based at London Blue Fin, with potential support for nearby sites as needed. Travel costs will be covered.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Proven troubleshooting skills
- Experience in a similar role within an ITIL environment
- Knowledge of PC/Desktop support, including Microsoft Windows XP/7/10/11
- Awareness of M365
- Excellent communication skills, both face-to-face and over the phone
- Experience with Windows Share/File permissions
- Knowledge of mobile connectivity (Android/iPhone)
- Knowledge of SCCM
- Confident break-fix skills for HP Workstations, desktops, and laptops
- Ability to handle a high workload with minimal supervision
- Attention to detail
- Proactive attitude and desire to improve
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
- Microsoft Certifications (MCSE/MCSA/MCPs)
- Hardware certifications (e.g., HP)
- Basic network knowledge (patching, switch tracing)
- Experience with ServiceNow ticketing system
