Job summary

Merryfields School in Wolstanton, Newcastle-under-Lyme, seeks a proactive Site Supervisor to join the small Site Team. This full-year role involves split shifts Monday to Friday, with flexibility for other patterns.

You will oversee caretaking, repairs, health and safety checks, and act as a key holder for opening/closing duties. Ideal candidates will hold a full driving licence to assist with maintenance and mini bus tasks, and be capable of physically demanding work in an outdoor environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in skilled trades (joinery, plumbing, grounds maintenance, decorating).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to plan and prioritise work.
• Full and clean driving licence required to assist with school transport needs.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general caretaking duties including maintenance and repairs (joinery, plumbing, decorating).
• Manage waste, statutory/compliance activities and health and safety checks.
• Act as a nominated Key Holder for opening/closing of school premises and emergency call outs.
• Be able to operate the school mini bus and support maintenance tasks as required.
• Work flexibly, may include weekend work occasionally.
• Collaborate with Trust and school staff to ensure a safe learning environment.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our small Site Team here at Merryfields School. We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and proactive Site Supervisor. The successful candidate will work a split shift Monday - Friday, however consideration may be given to other working patterns for the right candidate. The role is a whole year position.

Merryfields School is a 113-place Generic Special School for children aged 4-11 years in Wolstanton, Newcastle-under-Lyme; we are part of Manor Hall Trust.

The successful candidate will support our school in providing a safe, effective, and efficient learning environment. As Site Supervisor your responsibilities will include general caretaking duties including maintenance and repairs (may include joinery, plumbing and decorating), waste management, statutory and compliance activities and health and safety checks. As a nominated Key Holder, you will be responsible for some opening and closing of the school premises as well as emergency call outs.

You will hold a full and clean driving licence to assist with the maintenance requirements of the school mini bus. Ideally the successful candidate will work a split shift Monday - Friday, however consideration may be given to other working patterns for the right candidate.

The role will require you to be capable to cope with physically challenging duties due to the built and outdoor environments we have at the school.

You will also have excellent communication skills, ability to use initiative to plan and prioritise work and be ready to deal with a variety of situations.

As Site Supervisor you will need to work flexibly at all times and may on occasion be required to work weekends.

Experience within relevant skilled trades is required (including joinery, plumbing, grounds maintenance and decorating).
