Job summary

TGS International Group is seeking a Site Supervisor - Connectivity to lead installation teams on major data centre projects. Based in London, the role requires extensive travel across Europe and the Middle East, ensuring safety, quality, and timely delivery on site.

You will supervise structured cabling and fibre installation, coordinate labour, read drawings, and uphold client standards while supporting the Project Manager with programme planning and progress reporting.

Qualifications

• Strong background in structured cabling, fibre or data centre connectivity.
• Experience supervising cabling engineers, technicians or installation teams.
• Good understanding of copper and fibre installation, termination and testing.
• Ability to read construction drawings, schematics and cabling schedules.
• Experience in data centres or mission-critical environments preferred.
• Understanding of installation quality, testing requirements and safe systems of work.
• Good communication and client-facing skills; capable of coordinating teams on busy sites.

Job description

Role: Site Supervisor - Connectivity (Data Centres)

Location: London, UK - significant travel across Europe & the Middle East

We're representing a specialist data centre infrastructure business delivering structured cabling, fibre and wider connectivity solutions for major hyperscale and enterprise clients across the UK and internationally.

They are looking for an experienced Site Supervisor to oversee installation teams across major data centre projects. Based from London, the position will involve significant travel across Europe and the Middle East and will suit somebody who has come through the tools within structured cabling or fibre before progressing into site supervision.

You'll remain close to the delivery on site, coordinating labour and work fronts while ensuring productivity, installation quality, safety and client standards are maintained throughout each project.

What you'll be doing

• Supervise structured cabling and fibre installation teams across data centre projects.
• Coordinate daily site activities, labour allocation, work fronts and installation priorities.
• Ensure engineers and technicians understand drawings, specifications, methods and daily targets.
• Monitor productivity and progress against programme requirements and escape potential delays early.
• Oversee installation, termination, testing, labelling and patching of copper and fibre infrastructure.
• Carry out quality checks and ensure work meets company, client and manufacturer standards.
• Coordinate snagging, testing and project close-out activities.
• Maintain accurate daily site records, progress reports, labour records and timesheets.
• Ensure materials, tools and equipment are available when required and report shortages promptly.
• Liaise with Project Managers, clients, subcontractors and other trades on site.
• Identify installation issues early and support practical resolution on site.
• Ensure RAMS and safe systems of work are followed and support toolbox talks and inductions where required.
• Maintain high standards of PPE, conduct and professional presentation across the site team.
• Support the Project Manager with progress updates, resource requirements and short-term programme planning.

What we're looking for

• Strong background within structured cabling, fibre or data centre connectivity.
• Previous experience supervising cabling engineers, technicians or installation teams.
• Good understanding of copper and fibre installation, termination and testing.
• Ability to read construction drawings, schematics and cabling schedules.
• Experience working within data centres or other mission-critical environments is highly beneficial.
• Strong understanding of installation quality, testing requirements and safe systems of work.
• Good communication and client-facing skills, with the confidence to coordinate teams on busy sites.
• Comfortable monitoring productivity, quality and performance across site teams.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout Europe and the Middle East.
• SSSTS / SMSTS.
• ECS / CSCS.
• IPAF / PASMA.
• CNCI / CNIT or similar structured cabling qualification.
• Fibre installation, splicing or testing qualifications.

International travel & additional package

Significant travel across Europe and the Middle East should be expected as projects require.

• Hours worked while deployed overseas are paid at 1.5x the normal rate.
• Flights and international travel are provided by the company.
• Accommodation is arranged and paid for by the company.
• Supervisors may receive an additional discretionary paid hour per working day where expected standards are maintained, including professional presentation, correct PPE and representing the company appropriately on site.
