Job summary

ONNEC Group in Manchester, United Kingdom, is seeking a Data Centre Supervisor to deliver MAC and BAU activities across data centre environments and campus spaces. You will coordinate planning, scheduling and execution of works, monitor SLA performance, and work with clients and vendors to maintain service excellence.

The role is site-based in a 24/7 environment, with responsibility for cabling, asset management, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in MAC (Moves, Adds & Changes) in data centre environments.
• Structured cabling installation, testing and fault finding with copper/fibre.
• Strong knowledge of cabling standards and data centre infrastructure.
• Proven experience in asset management and ticketing/service delivery processes.
• Ability to supervise shift activities and support project delivery from design to handover.
• Experience managing third-party vendors in large-scale, operational environments.
• Strong organisational, prioritisation and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure within a 24/7 environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both independent and in a team.

The Data Centre Supervisor plays a key role in delivering IT cabling infrastructure support services across client data centre environments. The role is site-based and responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of Moves, Adds & Changes (MAC) activities and Business-as-Usual (BAU) operations, while supporting efficient day-to-day service delivery and operational improvements.

Working closely with the Data Centre Manager, Service Delivery Manager and client stakeholders, the role contributes to planning, execution, and continuous improvement of operational processes in a high-availability, 24/7 environment.

What you'll be doing as our Data Centre Supervisor:

What we're looking for in our Data Centre Supervisor:

Essential

• Relevant experience in a Data Centre MAC (Moves, Adds & Changes) environment
• Extensive experience in structured cabling installation, testing and fault finding
• Strong knowledge of cabling standards (copper & fibre) and data centre infrastructure
• Proven experience in asset management, ticketing systems and service delivery processes
• Ability to supervise shift activities and support project delivery from design through to handover
• Experience managing third-party vendors and working in large-scale, operational environments
• Strong organisational, prioritisation and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work under pressure within a 24/7 operational environment
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred

• Industry certifications (e.g. CompTIA Server+, Network+, CCNA, ITIL)
• Data Centre or cabling certifications (e.g. BICSI, CDCTP, CDCMP)
• Previous experience within banking or enterprise data centre environments
