Job summary

Premier Foods in Andover is seeking a Site Services Operator to support the site by carrying out cleaning, inspection and basic maintenance of equipment and facilities across all areas. You will actively support the hygiene programme and strive for continuous improvement to meet food safety legislation and customer requirements.

Reporting to the Site Services Supervisor, you will follow SOPs, promote high hygiene standards, assist with waste management, pest control and environmental tasks, and

Qualifications

• Experience in hygiene, GMP and food safety requirements.
• COSHH knowledge and safe working practices.

Responsibilities

• Clean and inspect machinery and facilities across the site.
• Support the hygiene programme to meet food safety standards.
• Manage waste, operate compactors and balers.
• Assist pest control and maintain pest prevention.
• Communicate with Logistics, Production and Engineering about hygiene concerns.

About the Role

Reporting to the Site Services Supervisor, the Site Services Operative will be responsible for the completion of activities; including cleaning, inspection and a level of maintenance of equipment and infrastructure across all areas of the site.To be actively involved in all aspects of the site hygiene programme, at Premier Foods Andover promoting a culture of continuous improvement in hygiene standards and processes, to support ; the site in achieving and maintaining the appropriate hygiene standards for food manufacture, in order to meet both legislation and customer requirements.

Safety and Quality

Following SOPs and safe systems of work, as provided / instructed.Knowledge of COSHH / MSDS requirements and associated risks.Encourage a culture of high site hygiene standards, leading by example.Personally demonstrate the correct safety behaviours, ensuring safe operating practices are followed in areas of responsibility.Encourage a culture that enhances behavioural awareness to reduce accidents and near misses.

Operations Management

Undertake specialist cleaning activities to drive improvement in site standards.Identify record and effectively communicate areas of risk relating to Health and Safety, Food Safety, and Operational Performance, whilst completing cleaning activities.Complete records of cleaning activities in a timely manner, for due diligence.Support efficient operation and control of all resources in cleaning activities.Act as a clear role model, demonstrating the behavioural standards expected of employees

Waste Management and Environmental

Environmental cleaning tasks throughout the site including working at height;Pro-active waste management and reductionOperation of Compactors, Balers, Mechanical tippers.

Pest Control

Have a pro-active approach to due diligence processes to reduce and eliminate pest activity.Follow up pest / hygiene related non-conformances on My Compliance as appropriateEscalate any pest sighting to Technical

Continuous Improvement

Support initiatives for improving hygiene, GMP, food safety and environmental impact, within the roles scope.

Communication

As part of the Technical Team liaise with colleagues within and across other functions (Logistics, Production, Engineering) to ensure hygiene, quality or GMP concerns are appreciated.
