Job summary

Premier Foods Andover is seeking a Site Services Operative to support hygiene, safety and environmental initiatives across the site. You will perform cleaning tasks, assist with waste management, and help maintain GMP standards in a food manufacturing environment.

The role involves working with the Technical Team, ensuring safe operating practices, and training on height work, jet washing, and pest control. A proactive and collaborative approach is essential for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of COSHH / MSDS requirements and associated risks.
• Encourage a culture of high site hygiene standards, leading by example.
• Following SOPs and safe systems of work, as provided / instructed.
• Pesticide training: i.e., the use and correct application of weed killers (training is provided)
• External vegetation maintenance (strimming, grass cutting & weed maintenance)

Responsibilities

• Undertake specialist cleaning activities to drive improvement in site standards.
• Identify record and effectively communicate areas of risk relating to Health and Safety, Food Safety, and Operational Performance, whilst completing cleaning activities.
• Complete records of cleaning activities in a timely manner, for due diligence.
• Support efficient operation and control of all resources in cleaning activities.
• Act as a clear role model, demonstrating the behavioural standards expected of employees.
• Environmental cleaning tasks throughout the site including working at height.
• Pro-active waste management and reduction.
• Operation of Compactors, Balers, Mechanical tippers.
• Have a pro-active approach to due diligence processes to reduce and eliminate pest activity.
• Follow up pest / hygiene related non-conformances on My Compliance as appropriate
• Escalate any pest sighting to Technical
• Support initiatives for improving hygiene, GMP, food safety and environmental impact, within the roles scope.
• As part of the Technical Team liaise with colleagues within and across other functions (Logistics, Production, Engineering) to ensure hygiene, quality or GMP concerns are appreciated.
• Working at height training and elevated work platforms
• Jet washing
• FLT and rider truck training *Some Operatives only

• Food Safety understanding (Level 2 HACCP training is provided)

Job description

Select how often (in days) to receive an alert:

• Reporting to the Site Services Supervisor, the Site Services Operative will be responsible for the completion of activities; including cleaning, inspection and a level of maintenance of equipment and infrastructure across all areas of the site.
• To be actively involved in all aspects of the site hygiene programme, at Premier Foods Andover promoting a culture of continuous improvement in hygiene standards and processes, to support ; the site in achieving and maintaining the appropriate hygiene standards for food manufacture, in order to meet both legislation and customer requirements.

Safety and Quality

• Following SOPs and safe systems of work, as provided / instructed.
• Knowledge of COSHH / MSDS requirements and associated risks.
• Encourage a culture of high site hygiene standards, leading by example.
• Personally demonstrate the correct safety behaviours, ensuring safe operating practices are followed in areas of responsibility.
• Encourage a culture that enhances behavioural awareness to reduce accidents and near misses.

Operations Management

• Undertake specialist cleaning activities to drive improvement in site standards.
