Job summary

Carmichael UK is seeking experienced Site Engineers and Section Engineers for a runway paving programme at Heathrow Airport in London. The role involves night shifts (20:00–06:00) on a contract basis Inside IR35, with short-term assignment and potential extension.

You will set out, survey, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure safety and quality on airfield works. The ideal candidate has experience on civil/infrastructure projects, with paving, surfacing, asphalt, or airfield works and

Site Engineer / Section Engineer – Runway Paving (Night Shifts)

Position: Site Engineer / Section Engineer
Shift Pattern: Nights – 20:00 to 06:00
Contract Type: Contract – Inside IR35
Duration: Initial short-term assignment with strong potential for extension and further project work.

The Opportunity

We are seeking experienced Site Engineers and Section Engineers to support a major runway paving programme at Heathrow Airport. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high-profile aviation infrastructure project within a fast-paced airside environment.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Site Engineer or Section Engineer on civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Experience in paving, surfacing, asphalt, concrete or airfield/runway works is highly desirable.
• Proficient with setting out equipment and engineering documentation.
• Strong understanding of health, safety and quality standards.
• Ability to work permanent night shifts in a live operational airport environment.
