Job summary

Technip Energies is seeking an experienced Site QA Lead to drive quality assurance on the Net Zero Teesside Power project. The role focuses on developing and maintaining QA processes to ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across EPC onshore activities and subcontractor interfaces.

The successful candidate will lead audits, manage non-conformances, and work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure right-first-time outcomes and continuous improvement throughout project phases.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or extensive QA experience in energy sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of current Codes and Standards (PED/PSSR, ASME, ASTM, EEMUA, CE/UKCA Marking, ATEX).
  • Proven experience on large-scale engineering/construction projects, preferably in power or low-carbon energy.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • ISO Lead Auditor certification is required.
  • ASQ CQE/CQA certifications are advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Promote awareness of quality management principles and provide guidance to peers.
  • Ensure compliance with the quality policy, standards and objectives across the unit.
  • Lead site QA audits, surveillance programs, and supplier interfaces.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to embed QA requirements.
  • Identify non-conformances, drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Maintain QA plans, procedures, and KPI tracking for the project.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Site QA Lead to join our team working on the Net Zero Teesside Power project, a pioneering initiative aimed at delivering low-carbon power solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance processes to ensure project deliverables meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote the awareness of quality management principles (including quality and Management System inductions) and provide advice and guidance to peers and colleagues.
  • Understands and identifies emerging stakeholder requirements and establishes plans to address these.
  • Ensures requirements of the Technip Energies quality policy, quality standard and agreed objectives are communicated and complied with across the Business unit/grouping.
  • Experience on EPC Onshore / EPCm / Power Plant type contracts.
  • Implementation of quality management system requirements, ensuring compliance with client requirements and/or ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Be familiar current Codes and Standards (PED/PSSR, ASME, ASTM, EEMUA, CE/UKCA Marking, ATEX etc).
  • Have experience regarding SUBCONTRACTOR interface/management, data gathering, investigation and decision making in relation to Code and Standard certification to demonstrate compliance needs.
  • Quality representative and interface with top management on all quality related matters specific to scope / contract.
  • Engages client quality representatives on a regular basis and acts expediently on both positive and negative client feedback.
  • Oversight, governance and implementation of all applicable quality related tools and applications / software’s.
  • Develop, review, and implement QA plans, procedures, and standards aligned with project requirements and industry best practices.
  • Management of site and subcontracts audits and surveillance programs, including scheduling, creating audit plans, develop Terms of Reference, conduct audits and surveillances to verify adherence to quality standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Manages and identifies Non-conformance and Opportunities for Improvements and advises remediations required with the intent to continuously improve quality outcomes on the project, also identifying the root causes of issues and recommends fixes through effective root cause investigation, also, management, reporting and analysis of data arising from non-conformance, correction and corrective actions and other key quality indicators.
  • Ensure the development and control of all SUBCONTRACTOR KPI’s, documentation, certification and QA/QC activities, including the review and approval process.
  • Act as contract focal point for all areas certification to ensure fulfilment regarding minimum certification requirements.
  • Have experience with Completions, Handover and Commissioning Processes.
  • Has good working knowledge of cross functional integration and inter discipline awareness, to identify right first time and continuous improvement areas and for sharing of good practice.
  • To lead, undertakes or participate in investigations of quality related failures.
  • Facilitates ‘Right First Time’ and ‘Continuous Improvement’ actions, events, and initiatives
  • Setting, tracking, and reporting site Quality goals and performance.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure quality requirements are integrated into all project phases.
  • Identify, report, and track quality issues, facilitating timely resolution and the project ‘Right First Time’ philosophy.
  • Participate in risk assessments and failure mode analysis related to quality aspects.
  • Manage, prepare and present site quality inductions and ensure awareness of project requirements throughout the full project team.
  • Foster a culture of quality awareness, right first time and continuous improvement across the project team.
Qualifications And Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field, or extensive experience in quality assurance within the energy, oil & gas, or petrochemical sectors.
  • Comprehensive understanding of current Codes and Standards (PED/PSSR, ASME, ASTM, EEMUA, CE/UKCA Marking, ATEX etc).
  • Proven experience working on large-scale engineering and construction projects, preferably in power or low-carbon energy projects.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with QA tools and software (e.g., audit management, non-conformance reporting).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Certifications such as ASQ CQE, CQA.
  • Must hold ISO Lead Auditor.
  • Proficient in the analysis of processes and data
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • High level of communication skills in both written and spoken format
  • Proficient in the use of continual improvement tools and techniques
