Site Permit to Work Coordinator – CCS Project

Job summary

Airswift is seeking an experienced Permit to Work (PTW) Coordinator for a major CCS project in North Wales. You will manage the site-wide PTW system and coordinate construction and commissioning activities to ensure safe work and compliance with procedures.

You will chair daily PTW/SIMOPS meetings, review and close permits, train staff, maintain PTW records, and support digital PTW rollout, interfacing with contractors, HSE, and the client.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in construction, industrial, energy, or high-hazard environments.
• Proven experience managing Permit to Work systems on large projects (EPC/EPCM).
• Strong SIMOPS governance and control of work processes.
• Knowledge of HSE legislation and construction safety requirements.
• Digital PTW platforms experience desirable.
• CSCS card and auditing experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Administer and control the site-wide PTW system.
• Coordinate construction and commissioning activities to ensure safe work.
• Chair daily PTW and SIMOPS meetings; review and approve permits.
• Review, issue, authorise, and close permits per procedures.
• Provide guidance and training on PTW requirements.
• Maintain PTW registers, records and SIMOPS tracking.
• Monitor permit conditions and escalate non-conformances as needed.
• Verify TBRA and risk assessments before work commences.
• Support isolation coordination for electrical, mechanical, and process systems.
• Generate PTW statistics and reporting; identify trends.
• Interface with contractors, management, HSE teams, and client representatives.
• Assist the transition from paper to digital PTW platforms.
