Job summary

The Client is seeking an Operations Manager to lead the safe, reliable operation of three district energy centres in East London. You will manage shift engineering and day maintenance teams, ensuring compliance, performance, and budgetary control on a contractual basis.

Responsibilities include overseeing delivery of heat and utility supply, coordinating maintenance, and promoting a strong safety culture across sites, with flexibility to travel between locations and occasional remote work.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of energy centre operations and district heating systems.
• Knowledge of maintenance planning and asset management.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational oversight of energy centres and district network infrastructure.
• Ensure continuity of heat, power and utility supply to all customers.
• Coordinate activities across shift teams and day maintenance functions; ensure effective handovers and operational control.
• Monitor operational performance and respond to plant issues, incidents or constraints.
• Take ownership of site budgets and cost control; identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Support delivery of new projects, upgrades and network expansion.
