Job summary

Johnstones Food Service, part of Finsbury Food Group, invites applications for a Compliance Improvement Lead to drive health and safety, food safety, and environmental compliance on site in East Kilbride. The role prioritises improving compliance maturity while supporting business performance.

You will work with the Site Leadership Team and Group/Regional Compliance colleagues to uphold safety, legality, and sustainability across operations.

Qualifications

• This role requires formal health and safety qualifications and hands-on compliance expertise.
• Experience in manufacturing environments, preferably food manufacturing.
• Knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and ESG principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead the site-level compliance strategy aligned to Group standards and ESG objectives.
• Support and maintain HSE, Food Safety, and Environmental Management Systems.
• Ensure appropriate duty holders are in place and capable of meeting obligations.
• Provide expert advice to the Site Lead and Leadership Team.
• Lead environmental compliance and support the site sustainability plan.
• Support internal and external audit programmes and resolve non-conformances.
• Maintain the site risk register and mitigate identified risks.
• Oversee incident reporting and investigations and embed learning.
• Track and report compliance performance metrics and trends.
• Escalate issues to Regional and Group Compliance and share best practices.
