Job summary

Adey Steel Group, part of the Nicholas Associates Group, is seeking a Site Manager to oversee site installation activities and manage on-site teams in line with safety guidelines. You will be responsible for surveys, planning, supervision of subcontract labour, and ensuring successful contract completion.

Role involves RAMS, site inductions, daily reporting, and close-out activities with regular site attendance.

Qualifications

• Steelwork and site health & safety competencies including Crane Supervisor, SSSTS, CSCS Gold Card, IPAF and PASMA.
• Strong construction health & safety knowledge.
• Excellent understanding of construction plant and equipment.
• Good attention to detail with quality checks on installed work.
• Solid problem solving, planning and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Proven leadership to motivate and direct teams.
• Ability to prioritise resources to meet project requirements.
• Strong verbal and written communication and negotiation skills.
• Excellent organisational and follow-up skills.
• Basic IT skills (email, Word, spreadsheets).
• First Aid certificate desirable but not essential.
• Flexible working approach.

Responsibilities

• Site surveys to measure and provide data to the Design/Detailing team.
• Pre-start visits to check access, working areas, datum levels and setting-out lines.
• RAMS creation and site audits in line with Safety-First initiative.
• Deliver site inductions, team meetings and toolbox talks.
• Manage and monitor site activities within budget and programme.
• Oversee sub-trades to ensure project requirements.
• Support close-out with Contract Managers and snagging tasks.
• Maintain comprehensive site records and photographic evidence.
• Complete daily diary entries and report progress, labour, issues and deviations.
• Prepare clear reports for commercial discussions.
• Raise NCRs when required and notify contracts manager.
• Review/sign off timesheets for employees and subcontractors.
• Challenge costs to support on-time delivery with QA.
• Provide cross-department information to assist accounts.
• Attend site and management meetings.
• Provide training and coaching to develop the team.
