Job summary

Adey Steel Group is seeking a Site Manager to oversee site installation activities and the day-to-day running of projects. You will manage the site workforce, supervise subcontractors, and ensure work is completed to programme, budget, and safety standards.

This role requires regular site attendance and strong regulatory knowledge. Reporting to the Head of Contracts, you will produce clear reports, manage resources, and contribute to continuous site improvement while supporting contract

Qualifications

• Steelwork competencies including Crane Supervisor, SSSTS, CSCS Gold Card, IPAF and PASMA.
• Strong H&S knowledge for site safety compliance.
• Good plant and equipment understanding for steelwork activities.
• Attention to detail in inspecting installed work.
• Problem solving, planning and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Demonstrated leadership to motivate and direct teams.
• Ability to prioritise resources to meet project needs.
• Strong communication, both verbal and written.
• Good organisation and follow-up skills.
• Basic IT skills (email, Word, spreadsheets).
• First Aid certification is desirable.
• Flexible working approach.

Responsibilities

• Site surveys to measure and supply data to design/detailing.
• Attend pre-start site visits to check access and setting-out.
• Maintain RAMS and perform site audits.
• Deliver site inductions, meetings, and toolbox talks.
• Manage site activities within budget and programme.
• Oversee sub-trades to ensure compliance with requirements.
• Support contract managers in site close-out and snagging tasks.
• Keep comprehensive site records and photographic evidence.
• Complete daily diary entries reporting progress and issues.
• Produce concise reports for commercial discussions.
• Raise NCRs and notify contracts manager when required.
• Review and sign off timesheets for staff and subcontractors.
• Challenge costs to support on-budget delivery.
• Provide information to accounts and liaise with other departments.
• Attend site and management meetings.
• Provide training and coaching to develop team capability.
