Job summary

Precision People seeks an experienced Site Manager to oversee steelwork installation on a Leicestershire project, ensuring delivery on programme, within budget and to safety standards. The role blends office coordination with regular site attendance and hands-on supervision of labour and subcontractors.

You will need a Crane Supervisor qualification with SSSTS and CSCS Gold Card, plus RAMS management, site audits and strong planning abilities to drive project success.

Qualifications

• Proven experience within steelwork, construction or a closely related engineering environment.
• Knowledge of RAMS production and site audits.
• Strong planning, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and manage site labour.
• Experience overseeing subcontractors and resources on site.

Responsibilities

• Oversee site installation activities and manage workforce and subcontract labour.
• Carrying out site surveys and recording measurements for design detailing.
• Attend pre-start visits to assess access and setting-out requirements.
• Prepare and maintain RAMS and carry out site audits.
• Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and team briefings.
• Manage programme, budget, quality and safety requirements.
• Supervise subcontractors and specialist trades.
• Produce clear site and progress reports and manage NCRs.
• Manage site labour, resources and timesheets and monitor costs.
• Attend site and management meetings and support team development.
