Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic person interested in working within a busy school environment. You must be a real team player and have a strong desire to provide an efficient service to the Shireland Hall Primary Community.

The Site Manager is a key position in our school and has responsibility for health and safety legislation, security, maintenance and cleanliness of the building and grounds, managing and liaising with contractors and working with the Trust to develop the new build and current policies and procedures in place. The postholder will also manage the cleaner in charge and have overall responsibility for the site team.

Experience in a Site Management role is essential and you must be able to demonstrate your IT skills. You’ll need to have good written and computing skills and be able to work confidently with all Microsoft and Google programs and adapt well to new software. You’ll also need to have excellent communication skills and the ability to work to strict deadlines. We need someone who’s organised and efficient to ensure the day to day workload is managed effectively. You’ll also need to be flexible and creative, with the ability to transfer your skills from one area of expertise to another. Above all, you’ll be interested in becoming part of a busy, dedicated and supportive team.

The working hours are 37 per week Monday to Friday. The Site Manager will also be required to occasionally close the school after 7.00pm if school events and meetings are held.

Please note that this post is all year round and annual leave is to be taken in school holiday periods. The Site Manager will be required to work a number of weeks in the school holidays (including Summer) to ensure that larger projects and building maintenance can be undertaken.
