Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Site Manager for a Birmingham academy. You will take ownership of day-to-day site operations, oversee security, safety compliance and maintenance, and manage contractors to keep the site safe and functional.

The role is full-time and long-term, with potential for permanent placement. Strong organisational and communication skills, plus flexibility to work additional or unsociable hours, are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 qualification (facilities management or management desirable).
• Experience in managing a facilities service, preferably in education.

Responsibilities

• Oversee security, Health & Safety compliance, and all site operations.
• Manage building and grounds maintenance and external contractors.
• Control planned and reactive works and manage budgets.
• Ensure the academy remains safe, compliant and operational at all times.

Salary: £35,570 - £41,177 per annum

The academy promotes a collaborative culture and is looking for a skilled Site Manager who can take ownership of the day-to-day management and continued development of the school site.

The academy is looking to appoint a Site Manager on a full-time, long-term basis, leading to a permanent position for the right Site Manager. The successful Site Manager will oversee security, Health & Safety compliance, building and grounds maintenance, external contractors and planned and reactive works, ensuring the academy remains safe, compliant and operational at all times.

The successful Site Manager will have:

• A minimum Level 3 qualification, with facilities management and/or management qualifications desirable
• Experience managing a facilities service, with experience in an education setting desirable
• Strong knowledge of building maintenance, security management and Health & Safety requirements
• Experience managing contractors, budgets and planned and reactive maintenance
• Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills
• A proactive, reliable and flexible approach, with the ability to work additional or unsociable hours when required
