Job summary

Progroup Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Site Supervisor/Manager to oversee fire safety and building improvement works across Chesterfield and the Midlands. You will supervise site operations, coordinate directly employed operatives and subcontractors, and ensure works meet safety standards and quality.

The role covers occupied properties in residential, social housing and healthcare environments, with development opportunities within an established contractor.

Qualifications

• Experience in supervisory roles on construction sites.

• SSSTS/SMSTS qualification desirable and CSCS card preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections, toolbox talks and health & safety checks.
• Maintain accurate site records, progress reports and QA documentation.
• Liaise with Project Managers, Contracts Managers, clients and stakeholders for smooth delivery.
• Identify and resolve site issues and escalate risks or delays.
• Support successful completion and handover of projects.

Job description

An established and growing fire safety and building compliance contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Site Supervisor/Manager to oversee the delivery of fire safety and building improvement works across Chesterfield and the Midlands.

Working across residential and public sector environments, you'll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on supervisor with experience in passive fire protection, building fabric or planned maintenance works who is looking to develop their career with a well-established contractor.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme.
• Coordinate directly employed operatives and subcontractors across allocated projects.
• Monitor workmanship and ensure installations meet relevant specifications, regulations and quality standards.
• Conduct site inspections, toolbox talks and health and safety checks.
• Maintain accurate site records, progress reports and quality assurance documentation.
• Liaise with Project Managers, Contracts Managers, clients and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Identify and resolve site issues, escalating risks or delays where necessary.
• Support the successful completion and handover of projects.

Candidate requirements

• Previous experience in a Site Supervisor or similar supervisory role within construction, passive fire protection, building fabric or property maintenance.
• Experience coordinating site teams and subcontractors.
• Good understanding of site health and safety requirements and quality assurance processes.
• Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain high standards of workmanship.
• SSSTS or SMSTS qualification desirable.
• CSCS card and a full UK driving licence desirable.
• Experience delivering works within occupied residential properties, social housing or healthcare environments would be advantageous.
